Analyst ranks Steelers pass catching corps among NFL's worst

NFL analyst Warren Sharp ranked the Pittsburgh Steelers' wide receiver and tight end rooms in the D tier on June 29, 2026. The group placed second lowest among all teams.

Sharp posted the ranking on social media, placing the Steelers above only the Miami Dolphins. They shared the tier with the Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets, New York Giants and Indianapolis Colts.

The Steelers added receiver Michael Pittman Jr. and second-round rookie Germie Bernard in the offseason. Tight end Jonnu Smith departed, which could create more opportunities for Pat Freiermuth and Darnell Washington.

Sharp's assessment comes after the Steelers' pass-catching group struggled to provide consistent production in 2025 alongside DK Metcalf. The analyst noted that young players such as Germie Bernard and Roman Wilson have yet to earn consistent trust from quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
