Cara Delevingne unveils 'Need It' single written with Fiona Apple

Cara Delevingne has released her new single 'Need It,' co-written with Fiona Apple. The track serves as the third preview from her upcoming debut studio album, due later this summer. It follows previous releases 'I Forgot' and 'Out of my Head.'

Delevingne described the songwriting process as collaborative and unconventional. She told Rolling Stone that the pair exchanged lyrics via Post-it notes rather than text messages.

"We were writing things down on Post-it notes and sending them to each other, which is really funny, because we could have just been texting these lyrics," Delevingne said. She added that working with Apple helped her feel free to be herself in the studio.

The single features distorted synthesizers and is described by Delevingne as a dance banger. In a statement she called Apple an absolute savant when it comes to portraying emotion and melody and lyric.
