DCI confirms two arrests in murder of PCEA cleric in Nakuru

Kenyan police have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of Reverend Julius Ngari at a church in Nakuru. The arrests follow the attack on May 3 that left the cleric dead and a watchman injured.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations said the suspects were detained after being found with valuables stolen during the assault at PCEA Tabuga Church in Nakuru North Sub-County.

Investigators reported that the attackers entered the compound around 2 a.m. on May 4 and targeted the manse where Reverend Ngari lived. His body was discovered bound and bearing severe head and neck injuries. A church watchman who may have tried to intervene was also found unconscious with injuries.

An autopsy conducted on May 6 confirmed that multiple head injuries caused the reverend's death. The DCI stated that the two suspects remain in custody for further interrogation as probes continue into a possible wider criminal network.
