Democracy day at Uppsala city hall on April 11

This family-friendly event complements the ongoing Demokratisdagar lecture series in Gottsunda, aiming to demonstrate how local democracy works and how residents can influence Uppsala's community development, according to city director Birgitta Pettersson. She states: “We want to invite you to a day that shows how local democracy functions and how Uppsala as a society develops. How you as a resident can participate in shaping that development.” The program features lectures by researcher and host Emma Frans, guided tours of the city hall's public art (booking required), workshops on local community development and the path to universal suffrage, meetings with politicians, and craft activities for children themed My dream-Uppsala.
