MANILA, Philippines — Inalis ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) ang cease of operations order laban sa Monterrazas de Cebu project.

The University of the Philippines' Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology has cautioned against interpreting its flood modeling research as a ruling on liability for Cebu's deadly 2025 Typhoon Tino floods. The statement responds to a video by celebrity engineer Slater Young citing the study to claim his Monterrazas de Cebu project did not contribute to the flooding that killed over 100 people. IESM stressed to Philstar.com that the analysis relies on specific assumptions and defined boundaries.

Prosecutors from the Sandiganbayan Third Division conducted an ocular inspection yesterday at the supposed site of a P92.8-million flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan, and found nothing. Former House speaker and Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez has moved to disqualify the Office of the Ombudsman from probing his alleged involvement in the flood control controversy, warning of a ‘pattern of prejudgment’ that violates due process. In a four-page letter dated April 22, his lawyers argued that statements by Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla show prosecution for plunder was decided in advance. He seeks handling by a neutral official.
