Inilipat sa Quezon City RTC ang tatlong kaso ng flood control

Inihayag ng Department of Justice na inilipat na sa mga korte ng Regional Trial Court sa Quezon City ang tatlong kaso kaugnay ng proyekto ng flood control laban sa SYMS Construction Trading at mga dating opisyal ng DPWH. MANILA, Philippines — Inihayag ni Department of Justice spokesperson Polo Martinez na inilipat na sa Regional Trial Court sa Quezon City ang tatlong kaso kaugnay ng mga proyekto ng flood control laban sa SYMS Construction Trading. Ayon sa kanyang pahayag noong March 18, orihinal na isinampa ang mga malversation cases sa mga korte ng Bulacan noong January 30, February 9, at February 13, batay sa administrative matter ng Supreme Court tungkol sa paghawak ng mga kaso ng flood control. Dalawa sa tatlong kaso ay magkakaroon ng pre-trial sa April 3 sa Quezon City RTC Branch 79. Kasama sa mga akusado sina dating DPWH assistant engineers Brice Hernandez at Jaypee Mendoza, na kasalukuyang nakakulong sa New Quezon City Jail kasama ang iba pang indibidwal. Inalis naman sa charge sheet sina SYMS contractor Sally Santos at dating DPWH engineer Henry Alcantara dahil naging state witnesses na sila. Ayon sa Rappler, ang mga kaso ay kinabibilangan ng graft sa ilalim ng RA 3019 Section 3(e), malversation sa ilalim ng Article 217 ng RPC, at falsification. Inilipat ang mga ito sa QC RTCs na nildengihang special courts para sa mga kaso ng flood control corruption. Nagkaroon ng arraignments noong Marso, at pre-trial sa Abril 13 para sa ilang kaso, bagamat may pagkakaiba sa petsa batay sa mga ulat.
