Through May 7 the movie had earned $101.8 million domestically in its first week and $222.2 million overseas. Its second weekend was expected to gross around $42 million in North America, matching New Line's Mortal Kombat II in a close contest that extended through Mother's Day. This performance would lift the domestic total to $143.8 million after ten days and push the combined franchise past $700 million by Sunday morning.
