References to multiple downloadable content packs, including a story expansion pass, appeared in the backend of an Epic Games Store listing for Final Fantasy VII Revelation. The discovery comes a day after the update was noted on July 2.
The third entry in Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy is scheduled to arrive in spring 2027. Backend changes to its storefront page listed several DLC items and explicitly mentioned a Story Expansion Pass.
Earlier games in the series followed different patterns. Final Fantasy VII Remake received a substantial story add-on called Episode Intermission with its Intergrade release, while Final Fantasy VII Rebirth offered only minor accessory bonuses.
Director Naoki Hamaguchi addressed fan requests for extra story content in prior statements. In a 2024 interview he noted that players primarily wanted the next main game rather than DLC. Earlier in 2026 he added that any post-trilogy expansions would depend on continued fan support.
No official confirmation of the content or its scope has been issued by Square Enix.
