Erika Hilton accuses PSOL of breaching electoral fund agreement

Federal deputy Erika Hilton (PSOL-SP) accused her party of prioritizing new candidates in the distribution of electoral fund resources, violating a prior agreement. The controversy emerged in social media posts on Tuesday (23). PSOL denied the accusations and stated that her campaign receives the largest investment among proportional candidacies.

In posts made on Tuesday (23), Hilton stated that PSOL is tearing up agreements made at the beginning of the year. According to her, the deal stipulated that she would remain in the party to help meet the electoral threshold in exchange for larger allocations as a vote-puller.

The congresswoman said she was shocked and disappointed. She mentioned that Juliano Medeiros, the former party president and pre-candidate, would receive the same priority as her.

PSOL responded that Hilton’s campaign has the largest investment among proportional candidacies. The party denied changes to its inclusion policy and stated that the proposal under discussion sets a cap for mandate holders seeking reelection.

Hilton also told Painel that she only stayed in PSOL because party leaders implored her to help reach the electoral threshold. Party officials, in turn, accuse the deputy of using the issue as justification to leave the party after the elections.
