Ethiopia's National Election Board has launched a system for citizens to report election-related problems quickly and safely. The system was introduced in Addis Ababa on May 30.
Ethiopia's National Election Board has launched a reporting and response system for issues linked to the seventh general election. The system allows reports via the toll-free line 6214 or by text message to 7555.
Citizens, political parties, observers and other stakeholders can report disruptions to voting, security incidents near polling stations, threats or other suspicious acts. The board will verify reports and coordinate responses with relevant institutions.
The system aims to improve transparency, protect voters and prevent violence. The board urged everyone to submit reports immediately when problems arise.
