Five ex-OPM members pledge loyalty to NKRI in Puncak Jaya

Five former members of the Free Papua Organization from Kodap XXVIII/Yambi-Mewoluk officially declared their exit from the group and returned to the Republic of Indonesia in Puncak Jaya district, Papua.

The ceremony took place in an emotional and solemn atmosphere in Puncak Jaya district. The five individuals read a pledge of loyalty to the Republic of Indonesia, kissed the red-and-white flag, and received hugs from Indonesian National Armed Forces soldiers.

The event was organized by Task Force Yonif 613/Raja Alam under the leadership of Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Inf. Alim Sa'adi, S.E. It resulted from patrol operations and persuasive approaches involving local government and community leaders.

Puncak Jaya Regent Dr. Yuni Wonda, S.Sos., S.IP., M.M. attended the ceremony. She stated that the local government is ready to guarantee their livelihood and welfare.

Lt. Col. Inf. Alim Sa'adi said the door of the Republic of Indonesia is always open to build a peaceful Papua.
