Ayon kay PAGASA weather specialist Daniel James Villamil, ito ay may maximum sustained winds na 85 kph at gustiness hanggang 105 kph.
Kung papasok ito sa Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), ito ay tatawaging Caloy, ang ikatlong tropical cyclone ngayong taon, at inaasahang magrecurve sa pagitan ng April 16 at 22 nang malayo sa lupa.
