The unreleased concert film George Michael: The Faith Tour has secured distribution deals ahead of its theatrical release later this year.
Bleecker Street’s Crosswalk will release the film in North America, including early access IMAX screenings. Universal Pictures Content Group will handle worldwide distribution.
The film captures the singer’s 1988 concerts in Paris during his first solo tour. It was directed by Andy Morahan and David Austin and uses unseen footage shot with fourteen 35-mm cameras at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy.
A new short film titled Finding Faith, directed by Mary McCartney, will precede the concert film. It includes voiceover from an unheard Michael interview, unseen images by photographer Herb Ritts, and behind-the-scenes footage.
Helen Parker, EVP at Universal Pictures Content Group, said the performances remain electrifying and will introduce a new generation to Michael’s work. An 18-track live album of previously unreleased recordings will accompany the film’s release in late-2026.
