Peter Frampton documentary to premiere at Tribeca Festival

A new documentary about rock musician Peter Frampton will premiere June 4 at the Tribeca Festival. The film traces his rise to fame in the 1970s and later career challenges.

Titled Frampton, the documentary is directed by longtime bandleader Rob Arthur. It includes new interviews with Frampton along with Tom Morello, Ringo Starr, Sheryl Crow, and others. A trailer for the film is now available. Frampton achieved massive success in 1976 with the live album Frampton Comes Alive!, which topped the Billboard charts for 10 weeks. He later joined David Bowie’s backing band before returning as a live performer in the 1990s. He has dealt with the muscle-wasting disease Inclusion Body Myositis in recent years. Earlier this month, Frampton released the album Carry the Light, his first collection of original material in 16 years. He has not performed live since November 2025 and has no upcoming shows scheduled. Frampton is expected to attend the Tribeca premiere.
