San Francisco Giants rookie outfielder Victor Bericoto hit two home runs with nearly identical metrics less than 24 hours apart. The blasts came on Wednesday and Thursday, each traveling 445 feet at 108.7 mph exit velocity.
On Wednesday Bericoto delivered a walk-off homer off a hanging slider from Athletics pitcher Elvis Alvarado. The ball cleared left-center field and gave the Giants a 2-1 victory.
The next day he connected on a fastball from Justin Sterner. The drive landed in dead center field with matching exit velocity and distance, plus a 5.3-second hang time.
Giants broadcaster Dave Flemming called the feat on the NBC Sports Bay Area telecast. “He’s done it again,” Flemming said. “Another towering home run — 445 for the second day in a row! The man is inspired.”
The 24-year-old Venezuelan has played in 15 games since his May 22 MLB debut. Three of his six hits are home runs.
