Lewis Hamilton believes his first victory for Ferrari is imminent following strong performances in the opening rounds of the 2026 Formula 1 season.
The seven-time world champion spoke after finishing second in Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix. He trails championship leader Kimi Antonelli by 66 points but remains optimistic about closing the gap. Hamilton credited team principal Fred Vasseur for implementing changes he requested after a difficult 2025 debut season with Ferrari. The 41-year-old is now second in the standings after six rounds and holds a 15-point lead over teammate Charles Leclerc. It couldn't be closer, Hamilton said. I couldn't have done that without this team, without the reliability that we have, and also with Fred. He acknowledged Mercedes' strong form this year while noting his own improved results and renewed confidence in the Ferrari camp.
