Capcom launched a commemorative website for Ōkami's 20th anniversary, complete with net artwork, merchandise offerings, and introductions to the character Amaterasu and the game's world. The site aims to build excitement for the upcoming sequel among newer audiences unfamiliar with the 2006 action-adventure title. Kamiya's message emphasizes the game's lasting legacy beyond its original release and HD remaster. Kamiya expressed deep gratitude to fans, stating, 'Seeing the support you've all poured into Ōkami since its original release, together with my immense pride for having worked on it, could not make me happier to celebrate this milestone.' He revealed owning a personal collection of Amaterasu figures and plushies, underscoring the character's appeal. Looking ahead, Kamiya affirmed that fan connections to Ōkami will deepen with the sequel from his studio, Clovers, and publisher Capcom. 'I'll be putting my blood, sweat, and tears into the new Ōkami sequel that you've all been waiting for!' he said. No release window has been announced.
