Homeless Mikael travels from Sollentuna to Uppsala for meals

Mikael Höglund regularly travels from Sollentuna to Uppsala to eat breakfast and lunch at Mikaelsgården. The facility run by Stadsmissionen accepts visitors from several municipalities.

Mikael Höglund has lived in homelessness for about two years. He sometimes sleeps at his father's place in Sollentuna but otherwise gets by on only water on some days.

When conditions are toughest he goes to Uppsala where he previously worked. At Mikaelsgården free breakfast and lunch are served daily.

Operations manager Jan Fromm confirms that more people arrive from neighboring municipalities. He says support is always available in the form of meals even if other items run out.

Sollentuna municipality states in an email response that people in need can contact the social office for assistance.
