Uppsala Municipality awards Omsorgspriset to three winners

Basem Al-Nabulsi, Mattias Grähs and Lava Saeed received the 2026 Omsorgspriset during a ceremony at Stadshuset.

The prize was presented on 15 June during the municipal council meeting. Each winner received flowers, a diploma and a gift cheque for 10 000 kronor.

Basem Al-Nabulsi, community guide at Uppsala Ungdomsjour, was recognised for reaching families hesitant to contact social services. He described the award as a shared achievement with colleagues.

Lava Saeed, nursing assistant at Dalbyhemmet, and Mattias Grähs, work supervisor at Fyrisgården, were praised for improving residents’ and users’ daily lives. Both stressed the value of teamwork and putting the individual first.
