IIT-Roorkee clarifies admission process for students below eligibility marks

The Indian Institute of Technology-Roorkee announced on June 5 that candidates below the Class 12 marks threshold can participate in JoSAA counselling and receive seat allocation based on JEE rank.

The institute stated that students with less than 75 per cent marks in general, OBC-NCL or GEN-EWS categories, or less than 65 per cent for SC, ST or PwD categories, remain eligible to fill choices now. Seats will be allotted according to rank. Candidates must submit a revised scorecard meeting the criteria by July 15 to orgjee@iitr.ac.in. Admission will then be confirmed for the seat allocated after the fourth round. The Joint Admission Board, chaired by IIT-Roorkee director Kamal Kishore Pant, confirmed no relaxation of the marks rule for JEE Advanced 2026. The board noted that 36 school boards take part in the process.
