India has called on the international community to hold Pakistan accountable following reports of police action that killed several protesters in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
On Tuesday, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated there were reports of severe police brutality in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in which several protesters have been killed and many injured. He added that the international community should hold Pakistan accountable for its misdeeds and abuses. The comments followed media reports of clashes in Rawalakot on Sunday. A report in Pakistan daily Dawn said at least 11 people, including four police personnel, were killed after security forces cracked down on protesters from the Joint Awami Action Committee. The group has demanded abolition of reserved legislative seats for refugees and subsidies on essential commodities. India has previously commented on similar protests in the region in October 2025.
