Jamal Musiala accepts penalty after 194 km/h crash

German international Jamal Musiala has accepted a penalty for causing a crash on the A8 motorway near Munich. The incident took place in April 2025.

Munich district court issued a final penalty order against the 23-year-old Bayern Munich player at the end of January. Musiala faced charges of dangerous endangerment of road traffic and negligent bodily injury in two cases. Munich I public prosecutor's office confirmed the details.

He was travelling at 194 kilometres per hour instead of the permitted 120 and overlooked another vehicle while overtaking. The 30-year-old driver and his 26-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries. Damage to property totalled around 200,000 euros. Musiala's younger sister was also in the car.

The player lost his driving licence in mid-February. A new application will only be possible in mid-November. Musiala accepted responsibility and expressed relief that no one was seriously hurt. Both Bayern Munich and the German Football Association were informed and offered support.
