Junior Caminero connected for his 26th home run of the year during a game in Houston. The 22-year-old Tampa Bay Rays infielder drove a first-inning pitch from Astros starter Hunter Brown deep to left field.
Caminero sent a 3-2 slider 437 feet at 107.5 mph, with the ball landing near the train tracks beyond the left-field wall for a solo shot. The blast came in his first at-bat of the contest.
The Rays player has now homered in each of his last 11 games, a stretch that began on June 23. He is the first player to accomplish that feat since Kyle Schwarber in 2021.
Caminero will turn 23 on Sunday. Other players who previously hit 11 or more home runs in an 11-game span include Nelson Cruz, Troy Tulowitzki, Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire, Albert Belle, Doug DeCinces, Mike Schmidt, Frank Howard and Harmon Killebrew.
