Komdigi reports 38,000 online gambling accounts to OJK

The Ministry of Communication and Digital reported around 38,000 accounts suspected of links to online gambling to the OJK. A total of 32,500 accounts have been closed, achieving an 88.5 percent success rate.

Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid conveyed this during the OJK Banking Forum 2026 in Jakarta on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. She mentioned several banks with the highest number of accounts, such as BCA with 7,317 accounts, BRI with 6,440 accounts, and BNI with 6,181 accounts.

The Financial Services Authority also reported that banks have terminated business relationships with 51,200 customers until May 2026 due to online gambling transactions. In addition, banks rejected 2.8 million prospective customers during the same period.

Komdigi noted that it has blocked 3.7 million online gambling sites and content from October 2024 to July 2026. The public has reported 156,000 accounts through the cekrekening.id portal.
