Nick Kyrgios and Frances Tiafoe will team up again in doubles at the Mubadala DC Open. The pair last played together five years ago at the same event.
The Australian and the American will return as a doubles partnership after a five-year break. They last competed together at the 2021 DC Open, where they defeated Rohan Bopanna and Ivan Dodig before losing in the second round to Jannik Sinner and Sebastian Korda.
The two players have maintained a close friendship and share entertaining styles of play. Tiafoe has appeared on Kyrgios’ podcast, Good Trouble With Nick Kyrgios, to discuss their careers.
Kyrgios enters the event with two doubles wins from four draws this season. Tiafoe has focused mainly on singles and reached only the first round in his lone doubles appearance at Indian Wells earlier this year.
Both players are expected to compete in singles as well, adding to the demands of the schedule. The DC Open begins in the coming days.
