Jujuy deputy Manuel Quintar surprised observers this week by parking his Tesla Cybertruck at the lower house annex. The electric vehicle, valued at $126,000, is one of fewer than ten such models in Argentina.
Quintar confirmed the vehicle is his own and used it to attend Congress. He described the purchase as part of a cultural battle and said there is nothing wrong with buying what one can afford with declared personal funds.
The deputy posted a photo of the truck bearing the La Libertad Avanza logo in May. His 2024 asset declaration also lists a Mercedes-Benz ML 320, a Volkswagen Amarok, a Toyota Hiace wagon and two motorcycles.
Other owners include streamer Coscu and influencer Barby Franco. Local importer Malek Fara brings the vehicles into the country. Juan Carlos López Mena keeps his unit registered in Uruguay.
