A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a head-on collision with a car on county road 867 north of Västervik on Sunday.
The crash occurred shortly before 5 p.m. on Sunday between Nygård and Lofta. Police were alerted at 4:45 p.m. and the motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to hospital.
Region Kalmar stated that the injured person is a man in his 70s. He is receiving care in the intensive care unit following serious injuries.
Police have filed a report for careless driving in traffic. The motorcyclist is suspected and the cause of the accident remains unknown.
