Addis Ababa, May 15, 2026 (FMC). The National Dialogue Commission reported successful agenda collection and identification completed in 1,234 woredas. The effort covered 93 percent of Ethiopia and identified inclusive participants. The commission noted challenges in conducting talks in Tigray region woredas despite 22 rounds of outreach efforts.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Dr.) attended the evaluation of the commission's performance and future direction. He stated that the dialogue has reflected the views of more than 90 percent of Ethiopians across the country. All stakeholders should contribute constructively to peace, unity and lasting stability, he added.
In the next phase the commission will strengthen participation of political actors and prepare national dialogue agendas. It will also convene the national dialogue conference and facilitate implementation of agreed outcomes and recommendations.
