National Capital Region defended its overall title at the 2026 Palarong Pambansa with 91 gold medals, 71 silvers, and 71 bronzes. The region secured its 19th consecutive general championship after competitions concluded on May 30 in Agusan del Sur.
NCR dominated swimming, athletics, and gymnastics to reach the 90-gold mark for the third straight edition. Swimmer Patricia Mae Santor led the effort by winning gold in all seven of her events and setting three new Palaro records.
Calabarzon placed second with 55 golds while Davao Region finished third with 33 golds. Quezon City will host the 2027 games, taking over from host region Caraga.
