Opposition lawmakers formalized a request for a special session on May 14 focused on Manuel Adorni's financial situation. The Unión por la Patria bloc did not sign the document and quorum remains uncertain.
A group of 13 opposition lawmakers from various blocs, led by Esteban Paulón, Maximiliano Ferraro, Mónica Frade and Pablo Juliano, together with left-wing legislators, formally submitted the request to Martín Menem on Thursday.
The agenda includes verbal and written information requests and a motion of censure regarding Adorni's assets. Unión por la Patria stayed out because it wanted to add economic and social issues, although its members may still provide quorum.
A total of 129 out of 257 deputies are needed to hold the session. A similar request a month ago gathered 125 signatures. The May 14 meeting will not directly resolve Adorni's situation, since two-thirds approval is required without a committee report.
