Örebro Hockey has secured defenseman Axel Elofsson with a contract extension through the 2027/28 season. The 17-year-old will spend the upcoming campaign on loan at IK Oskarshamn in Hockeyallsvenskan. The move aims to give the promising player more senior experience.
The club announced the deal on Tuesday. Elofsson, who joined Örebro ahead of the 2023/24 season from Ulricehamn, has progressed quickly through the junior system and made his SHL debut last season. His new contract takes the form of a hybrid junior and A-team agreement because he has not yet accumulated enough SHL minutes for a standard rookie deal.
