Örebro Hockey signs center Lucas Stockselius until 2029

Örebro Hockey has signed 20-year-old center Lucas Stockselius to a contract running through the end of the 2028/29 season. The player from Norrtälje broke through this season with Almtuna in HockeyAllsvenskan, lining up alongside Mikkel Öby-Olsen and Liam Danielsson. Stockselius will reunite with Danielsson, who was on loan from Örebro, while facing Öby-Olsen next season after his move to Färjestad.

Lucas Stockselius developed through Djurgårdens junior system before joining Almtuna, where he made his mark this season in a productive line with Mikkel Öby-Olsen and Liam Danielsson. Danielsson had been with Almtuna on loan from Örebro Hockey, setting the stage for their reunion in the SHL next season. Meanwhile, Öby-Olsen was recently announced by Färjestad, meaning Stockselius will now oppose his former teammate there. Örebro sport chief Henrik Löwdahl expressed enthusiasm for the signing, noting that he and Tony had tracked Stockselius since his junior days. “Lucas is an exciting player we believe in long-term. We think he has many fine qualities, and our hope is that he can take the next step in our environment,” Löwdahl said on the club's website. Stockselius shared his excitement about the move. “It will be great fun to come to Örebro. I’ve had several good talks with Henrik, and it feels like I’m coming to the right place to take the next step in my career,” the center said.
