Overmono announce second album Pure Devotion

The Welsh electronic duo Overmono have revealed details of their upcoming second album. Titled Pure Devotion, the record is scheduled for release on August 7 via XL Recordings. It follows their 2023 debut Good Lies and includes a new single called Lockup.

Overmono, consisting of brothers Tom and Ed Russell, shared their plans for the album in a press statement. They emphasized the hands-on methods used in the studio, including running tape over magnets, blowing up speakers, and oven-baking a cymbal covered in coffee grounds, crisps, and vinegar. The duo also noted using a dirt-cheap FX unit acquired years ago in Bromley to create distinctive sounds across the tracks.
