Opus Kink announce debut album and UK tour

Brighton post-punk band Opus Kink have revealed their debut album 'The Sweet Goodbye', set for release on July 31 via So Recordings. The announcement coincides with the jazz-infused lead single 'Come Over, Do Me Wrong' and new headline tour dates across the UK and Europe. Frontman Angus Rogers described the track as capturing the 'hallucinogenic qualities of a doomed love affair'.

Opus Kink, known for their blend of jazz, country, indie, and punk, follow previous EPs '’Til The Stream Runs Dry' (2022) and 'My Eyes, Brother!' (2023) with this full-length debut. Produced by Craig Silvey, who has worked with Florence & The Machine and Sam Fender, and engineered by Dani Spragg of Wunderhorse and English Teacher, the album explores themes of violence, shame, and emptiness with an absurdist edge. The lead single eases in with a sultry horn melody and builds to an anthemic chorus sung by Rogers: “Sideways, sweet love/ The night so long/ Dead face, cold glove/ Come over, do me wrong.”
