Opus Kink annonce son premier album et une tournée au Royaume-Uni

Le groupe de post-punk de Brighton, Opus Kink, a dévoilé son premier album 'The Sweet Goodbye', dont la sortie est prévue pour le 31 juillet via So Recordings. Cette annonce s'accompagne du single aux accents jazz 'Come Over, Do Me Wrong' et de nouvelles dates de tournée au Royaume-Uni et en Europe. Le leader du groupe, Angus Rogers, a décrit ce titre comme une œuvre capturant les 'qualités hallucinogènes d'une histoire d'amour vouée à l'échec'.

Opus Kink, connu pour son mélange de jazz, de country, d'indie et de punk, fait suite à ses précédents EP '’Til The Stream Runs Dry' (2022) et 'My Eyes, Brother!' (2023) avec ce premier album complet. Produit par Craig Silvey, qui a travaillé avec Florence & The Machine et Sam Fender, et mixé par Dani Spragg de Wunderhorse et English Teacher, l'album explore des thèmes comme la violence, la honte et le vide, avec une touche d'absurde. Le single phare s'ouvre sur une mélodie de cuivres sensuelle et monte en puissance jusqu'à un refrain anthémique chanté par Rogers : “Sideways, sweet love/ The night so long/ Dead face, cold glove/ Come over, do me wrong.”
