Jim James annonce son nouvel album solo Wowed Out

Le leader de My Morning Jacket, Jim James, a annoncé son premier album solo en huit ans. Intitulé Wowed Out, le disque paraîtra le 28 août via le label ATO Records. Il a également partagé le premier single, Come Again.

L'album s'inspire de musiques que James avait composées à l'origine pour des projets cinématographiques au début des années 2010. Il a travaillé sur ce matériel avec le compositeur Brian Reitzell. James a décrit la chanson Come Again comme étant née d'un sentiment de découragement face aux changements sociétaux, tout en cherchant à se concentrer sur la beauté du monde.

Dans une déclaration, James a affirmé que ce projet lui a apporté joie et réconfort durant sa création. Il espère qu'il en sera de même pour les auditeurs. Wowed Out fait suite à ses sorties solo de 2018, Uniform Distortion et Uniform Clarity.

James doit se produire au Hollywood Bowl de Los Angeles les 10, 11 et 12 juillet dans le cadre de concerts célébrant les films de Wes Anderson. Il donnera également un concert acoustique solo le 28 août lors du Song Summit à Park City, dans l'Utah.
