Petróleos Mexicanos stopped reporting crude oil exports to Cuba during the first quarter of 2026, though it maintained fuel shipments averaging 900 barrels per day.
According to the 6-K report filed with the U.S. SEC, Pemex recorded no crude sales to the island for the first time since 2023. Fuel exports fell 55 percent compared with the same period in 2025.
The total value of energy sales to Cuba dropped 92 percent to 256.2 million pesos. Cuba accounted for just 0.2 percent of Pemex’s petroleum product export value.
The company cited Executive Order 14380 signed by Donald Trump on January 29, 2026, which authorizes tariffs on countries supplying petroleum to Cuba. Pemex warned of uncertainty in U.S.-Mexico trade relations without directly linking the change to that measure.
Subsidiary Gasolinas Bienestar changed its name to Servicios Logísticos Integrales Mumiya on March 31, 2026.
