Persija Jakarta coach Mauricio Souza has complained about the team's packed schedule ahead of the week 30 Super League 2025–2026 match against Persis Solo at Stadion Utama Gelora Bung Karno on Monday evening. The Macan Kemayoran squad just played two away games in less than five days. Souza said the limited preparation time poses a challenge.
Mauricio Souza stated that the team has very limited preparation time due to playing two matches in less than five days. He made the comments during a press conference on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
"Preparation is quite short due to time issues. As you know, we played two matches in less than five days," the Brazilian coach told reporters.
Prior to facing Persis Solo, Persija had away games against PSBS Biak on April 18 and PSIM Yogyakarta on April 22, 2026. They earned four points from those matches—one win and one draw—as planned by the coaching staff.
Despite recovery challenges, Souza expressed gratitude for the positive results. Current training emphasizes improving attacking efficiency, particularly finishing, after failing to capitalize on chances against PSIM.
"We trained a lot on finishing and play in the final third to be effective in the match," he added.
