A new POLITICO survey highlights deep divisions between Democrats and Republicans over what threatens U.S. election integrity ahead of the 2026 midterms. More than a third of Americans believe the contests could be stolen, though the two parties disagree sharply on the main risks. The poll, conducted in mid-April, underscores ongoing distrust in the voting system.
The POLITICO Poll of 2,035 adults found that 58 percent of Kamala Harris voters worry eligible people will be blocked from casting ballots. In contrast, 52 percent of Donald Trump supporters fear ineligible voters will be allowed to participate. Both sides express concern that the November midterms may not be fair, with roughly 40 percent in each camp saying the results could be stolen.
