A 46-year-old woman named Annelie was strangled to death in her home in Grythyttan, and her body was later dumped in a waterway. The prosecutor has charged her 56-year-old partner with the murder. The body was found wrapped in a duvet.
On the early morning of December 6, 2024, Annelie, 46, disappeared without a trace from her home in Grythyttan. Her body was discovered in mid-March 2025 in a waterway near Norsbron, wrapped inside a duvet. Prosecutor Carolin Tengroth has charged Annelie's 56-year-old partner with the murder, alleging he strangled her at home before dumping the body in the water.
"The body was found in the water. It was inside a duvet," Tengroth stated. The partner was arrested later that same evening Annelie vanished, suspected of the crime. The incident occurred in the small town of Grythyttan in Örebro County, where police are now investigating the circumstances of the alleged murder.
The charges are based on evidence pointing to the partner's involvement, though details on motive or additional witnesses have not been disclosed. The family and local community have been shocked by the tragic event, which highlights risks in close relationships.
