Sinabi ni lawyer Benjamin Tolosa Jr. noong Lunes na ang layunin ng team ay tiyakin ang isang compelling case na makakayanan ang conviction ni Duterte. Hindi siya nagkomento sa posibleng pagbaba ng kinakailangang boto mula 16 patungong 14 o 15.

Ayon sa konstitusyon, kailangan ng dalawang-katlo o 16 sa 24 na boto ng Senado para sa conviction. Nabawasan ang bilang ng mga senador dahil sa suspensyon ni Sen. Jinggoy Estrada at pagiging fugitive ni Sen. Ronald dela Rosa.

Nakatakdang magsimula ang impeachment trial sa Hulyo 6. Hiniling ng prosecution ang 62 trial dates habang ang defense ay 30. Maaaring lumampas pa sa Setyembre ang paglilitis, ayon kay Batangas Rep. Gerville Luistro.
