Paris Saint-Germain secured a place in the Champions League final with a 1-1 draw at FC Bayern Munich. Ousmane Dembélé scored early while Harry Kane equalised only in stoppage time. PSG will face Arsenal in Budapest on May 30.
Paris Saint-Germain advanced to the Champions League final with a 1-1 draw against FC Bayern Munich. After a 5-4 first-leg win, the result in the Allianz Arena proved enough for the holders to progress. Ousmane Dembélé opened the scoring in the third minute.
Bayern pushed for a comeback after the early setback but created few clear chances. Manuel Neuer made several key saves to keep the score down. Harry Kane’s stoppage-time equaliser in the 94th minute arrived too late to force extra time.
Two controversial handball incidents involving referee João Pinheiro drew strong criticism. Bayern sporting director Max Eberl and coach Vincent Kompany both highlighted a missed red card for Nuno Mendes. The defeat ends Bayern’s hopes of reaching the final and winning a treble.
The club now turns its attention to the DFB-Pokal final against VfB Stuttgart on May 23 in Berlin.
