Quezon City Council to probe councilor after LTO clash at INC rally

The Quezon City Council announced an investigation into District 2 Councilor Ranulfo Ludovica following his confrontation with a Land Transportation Office enforcer during an Iglesia ni Cristo rally on July 1.

In a statement issued on July 2, the council, led by Vice Mayor Gian Sotto, said it would conduct an impartial inquiry to determine if Ludovica’s actions met the standards expected of public officials. The incident occurred near the Corinthian Gardens gate along EDSA when Ludovica and other rally participants confronted the enforcer over traffic tickets issued to illegally parked vehicles.

Ludovica pointed his finger at the enforcer and called him a lapdog who follows an addict president. The crowd chanted tuta repeatedly while recording the exchange. Ludovica joined the two-day INC rally in support of Senator Rodante Marcoleta.

The rally caused significant traffic disruptions on EDSA. It began without a permit on June 30 and later moved to Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila after Quezon City revoked a permit for July 2.
