Egyptian singer Ramy Sabry performed for thousands at the opening of The Village, the new shopping and entertainment destination in the New Administrative Capital's Celia development, on Thursday. The event marked the launch of a Carrefour branch with discounts and positions The Village as the heart of Celia, featuring international brands and recreational facilities.
In a major celebratory event on Thursday, Egyptian singer Ramy Sabry performed a concert at the opening of The Village, the new commercial and entertainment area within the Celia project in the New Administrative Capital. The event drew thousands of attendees who enjoyed Sabry's popular songs, marking the official launch of the area described as the heart of Celia.
The Village houses dozens of international retail and entertainment brands, along with medical and administrative centers, a sports club, cinema complexes, and bowling alleys. It overlooks a central lake surrounded by restaurant chains and features an open-air theater. The opening included the inauguration of a new 1,600-square-meter Carrefour store, offering discounts of up to 10%, as part of the collaboration between Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG) and Majid Al Futtaim.
The ceremony was attended by Omar Hisham Talaat, TMG's Chief Business Development Officer, and Mohamed Khafaja, Regional Director of Majid Al Futtaim Retail in Egypt. Talaat stated: 'The opening of Carrefour represents the first step in a series of upcoming openings for a group of international restaurants and stores in The Village area, which is the beating heart of Celia.' He added that the area is designed to accommodate international brands and diverse facilities, reflecting TMG's commitment to high-quality services amid rising occupancy rates in the New Administrative Capital.
Khafaja confirmed this as a key step in the expansion strategy, bringing the total to 72 Carrefour stores across 12 Egyptian cities. He said: 'We aim through this expansion to enhance our presence in strategic locations experiencing promising urban growth, while providing an integrated shopping experience for our customers.' The company supports sustainable jobs and local suppliers.
Celia is the largest integrated services project by the private sector in the New Administrative Capital, spanning 500 acres in the heart of the Green River. It is the first residential development fully 'pulsating with life,' offering comprehensive commercial, medical, sporting, and transport services. Additionally, the Kids Station entertainment area began operations with discounts up to 50%.
