Ethiopia's rural corridor development project has begun in four regions, changing rural communities' lifestyles under Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's leadership.
The rural corridor development project has started in South Ethiopia, Sidama, Central Ethiopia and Southwest Ethiopia regions. It focuses on four main pillars.
These include building model villages, separating human and animal residences, expanding renewable energy use and reducing indoor air pollution. It also organizes backyard vegetable gardens and beehives to generate additional income.
The rural corridor development aims to narrow the growth gap between urban and rural areas and currently shows promising results.
