Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Will Howard is expected to receive a more thorough evaluation than rookie Drew Allar by next spring, according to beat writer Ray Fittipaldo. The assessment comes after the team drafted Allar in 2026 while retaining Howard, who was selected in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Ray Fittipaldo believes the Steelers front office will gain a solid understanding of Howard through his second year of practice and preseason opportunities. He noted that new head coach Mike McCarthy and staff start from a different position with the players but can still form a detailed view of Howard sooner than Allar.
