Steelers expected to renew Acrisure Stadium lease

Pittsburgh Steelers beat writer Ray Fittipaldo said the team will remain in the city and at its current home rather than relocate or construct an extravagant new venue.

Fittipaldo made the comments during a July 3 appearance on 93.7 The Fan. He recalled past rumors of a move to Washington, Pennsylvania, and noted that similar speculation about Cranberry has circulated without leading to any departure.

The Steelers have played all home games in Allegheny County since the franchise began, first at Forbes Field and later at Three Rivers Stadium before moving into the current facility, then called Heinz Field, in 2001. Fittipaldo said the team is expected to stay there for at least the next 15 years through a lease renewal.

Owner Art Rooney II has indicated no interest in building a domed stadium or a multi-billion-dollar facility capable of hosting a Super Bowl. The team instead plans to pursue opportunities such as hosting the NFL Draft following the record-setting event in 2026.
