The Federal District government adopted the same measure. Governor Celina Leão announced the decision on the morning of Thursday, June 25.
Belo Horizonte city hall followed suit. Mayor Álvaro Damião confirmed that municipal offices will close, except for essential services. The measure will be officially published on Friday, June 26.
Brazil qualified for the round of 16 after defeating Scotland 3-0 on Wednesday, June 24. The opponent will come from Group F, which includes the Netherlands, Japan, Sweden and Tunisia.
