Swedish House Mafia debuts Lykke Li collab in Ibiza

Swedish House Mafia premiered their new collaboration with Lykke Li titled 'Happiness Is So Sad' during a June 28 performance at Ushuaïa Ibiza. The track, which features additional production from Max Martin and Oscar Holter, is scheduled for release on July 31.

The Swedish electronic trio of Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso introduced the song as part of their weekly residency at the White Isle venue. Ingrosso described the project as a “Swedish Avengers crew” and praised Li as “one of the coolest artists ever” whose “voice is so unique.”

Li recalled the studio session as nerve-racking yet eased by Ingrosso’s positive energy. She noted that the group “found the riff” and began “screaming with our hands in the air,” aiming for melodies that “make you want to cry and dance at the same time.”

Swedish House Mafia will continue performing at Ushuaïa every Sunday through September 13. The group has also scheduled a headline concert in Gothenburg on August 29, billed as their largest to date.
