Williamsson expressed frustration over how the club handled the end of his tenure, telling Barometern-OT that he was caught off guard. 'I was taken by surprise yesterday. It's so embarrassingly handled that I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I didn't think it would end like this,' he said. He first learned of the club's decision not to retain him via media announcements, where the leadership stated they could not meet his demands. Williamsson noted that negotiations had dragged on for two months without resolution. He contacted both the club leadership and sports chief Mikael Aaro seeking clarity, but described the talks as disorganized. Responsibility appeared to shift between club director Anders Westring and Aaro. Initially, Williamsson submitted a high offer but was prepared to adjust it downward. However, he received what he called a significantly lower counteroffer. 'Micke throws a piss offer at me. They have nothing more to give. But it's so they can say Tex turned it down. That amount was far from what we had discussed,' Williamsson said. The future remains uncertain for the experienced netminder, who is considering retirement from hockey altogether.
